Lay’s Ad Review: Why this ad is a touchdown on Paid Social!

To celebrate National Potato Chip Day (yes, it’s a real thing that happened yesterday, google it), we present our Lay’s Ad Review! So let’s recap why we love this Super Bowl commercial from Lay’s featuring Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen!

Three reasons why this Super Bowl commercial from Lay’s is a touchdown for them on Paid Social.

1️⃣ Number one, the video’s only six seconds long. So instead of force feeding the audience to watch the original 61 seconds that you saw in the commercial, they’re optimizing for how audiences consume on social media which is going to be short form, which is typically going to be under 15 seconds or less.

2️⃣ Number two, they’re leading with their product. So you see Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd eating the Lay’s Potato Chip. So instead of just having a basic product shot, you’re able to see somebody actually enjoying their product.

3️⃣ Number three, and definitely the most expensive part about this commercial, they’re also leading with their brand endorsement. By having Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd there, they’re going to stop more thumbs from scrolling to be able to have a deeper interaction with this social ad.
