Cheetos Ad Review: Why this ad is lacking crunch

It’s National Eat What You Want Day and we want to eat some Cheetos. And so we present our Cheetos Ad Review!

This paid social video from Cheetos is lacking crunch and here are three reasons why.

1️⃣ Number one, their product shot is weak. It’s shown from a distance so I am able to know that it’s food. But it’s not able to make me hungry.

2️⃣ Number two, the storytelling’s lackluster. Yeah, it’s cool to be able to up your Mac and Cheese game, but what does that mean? I want to have a deeper visualization and conceptualization. Show me your cheesiness, show me your spicy jalapeño-ness, and that’s going to make me more inclined to be able to purchase it.

3️⃣ Number three, and this is strictly underneath an acquisition lens rather than branding, because for branding of the Cheetos Guy in the beginning, there is value in that. However, if you’re doing it for an acquisition play, you want to lead with your benefit, which would be visualizations of their product or stronger storytelling of their product to get a higher volume of the audience aware of why they should purchase your product.
